NSC, together with a dedicated parents support group, has launched a book with true-to-life information on how to manage patients afflicted by the skin condition atopic dermatitis.
 
The 100-page book is a compilation of personal case histories. They include those of parents caring for affected children, young children coping in school; teenagers coming to grips with AD, and a National Serviceman’s plea for understanding. Written in very simple non-technical language, with minimal use of medical terms, parents and families of patients can learn how to avoid pitfalls and obtain useful approaches to mitigate the impact of eczema on the day-to-day lives of their children.
 
The book also contains a glossary of resources and references of useful websites; support services in Singapore; earlier studies on atopic dermatitis done in Singapore; and book titles on the subject.
